WHO WE ARE
“My passion stems from my father who
inspired my entrepreneurial spirit from childhood,” says
Hooper. “He taught me that it’s all about hard work,
timing and patience... advice that kept me from buying at the peak
and waiting for the market correction.”
“When I was nine, I built a two story tree house with the money I raised by going door to door reselling Sam’s Club candy bars at a sizable mark up. In high school, I raised money to pay for my senior trip to Florida by getting local businesses to advertise on a discount card. Then I went door to door selling the “Super Happy Discount Card”. My path from tree house builder to business owner has been rich with educational and diverse experiences which laid a good foundation for what I am doing today.”
“My favorite story is about a house I bought. It was owned by an out-of-state son who had just lost his mother. The house was in deplorable condition caused by years of neglect due to her failing health. The family had lived there for over thirty years. The son grew up in the house and had his first date there with the woman he later married. At the closing, the son asked if he could bring his wife and son by to look at the home when we finished the restoration. He told me he wanted his son to remember his grandmother’s home in a positive way. It was such a joy watching him show his little six year old the room his dad had slept in, and hearing he and his wife re-live their fun youth together and all the good memories they shared in that home.”
“I enjoy every aspect of my business. The houses are always overgrown with vegetation, and in need of extensive renovation. To turn an ugly house into an attractive home requires major floor plan alterations; walls removed and bathrooms added. I have a remarkably gifted crew who work side by side in a smooth yet expeditious manner. It is a huge pleasure for me and my team when all the neighbors come by to thank us for transforming the eyesore of the neighborhood into a charming home. It’s an added bonus hearing from the tenants that it’s the nicest home they have ever lived in.”
The team at Rent the Bay gets it – it’s personal – to you and to us. We’ll take care of you, and your property as if it was our own.
